A Place for You...

   The Cooperative Student Fellowship (CSF) is a congregation-based campus ministry that connects Winthrop students with God, with each other, and with a community of faith. Students describe CSF as a "family," a "place for dialogue and discussion about things that matter," and a "home away from home."

Oakland Baptist Church sponsors the Cooperative Student Fellowship. Located just one block north of the Winthrop campus, Oakland was “planted” in  1950 by First Baptist Church as a mission church to the university area.

From the very beginning, Oakland has been devoted to serving the Winthrop community. CSF continues a tradition of ministry to and with college students that began over fifty years ago. Now in its second year of existence, CSF continues to discover new ways to be the presence of Christ on campus and beyond.
